Whirring haze befog my eyes
Errantly, I did not die
‘Neath the oceanic moon, where cetacean corpses are laid hewn
The creature pierced my skin, infused by its venom, in hell I live
I don't belong amongst the living anymore
A walking wretch of rotting flesh and bone
Kissed by the Irukandji, licked by unholy flame
Total envelopment of a deep necrotic shame
My time in purgatory undone with surgery
Alas, the Irukandji forever charred its mark on me
Alive on borrowed time
Restore to order declined
Early return I crave
Utterly Gripped by the Grave
In death’s embrace, a soothing calm, infernal grace
It’s clear to me I cannot be alive, this calamity I will rectify
I can’t resist dragging a scalpel through my wrist
Toxins encouraging the agony
Kissed by the Irukandji, licked by unholy flame
Total envelopment of a deep necrotic shame
My time in purgatory undone with surgery
Alas, the Irukandji forever charred its mark on me
Enthralled by death, revert my life
For Errantly, I did not die
Alive on borrowed time
Restore to order declined
Early return I crave
Utterly Gripped by the Grave
Alive on borrowed time
A searing clarity, necrotic design
Bestow me with decay
Utterly Gripped by the Grave

Hype is a funny thing. Usually when I hear everywhere "Dude this shit is 🔥" or even the dreaded and oft-used "AOTY!!" bullshit, I roll my eyes. And I rolled my eyes last year on the hype train for Carnosus. But again, for every thousandth breathless fanboy review I've seen, sometimes the album exceeds the expectation. So I will confidently tell you that, yes, "This shit is 🔥" as I wait for Willowtip to release that sweet Green Ghostly vinyl variant domestically 🤣 Finally a win for my wallet! bcb723

This album being played over the PA system at the museum where Salvador Dali's "The Persistence of Memory" is housed is what caused the faces of the clocks in the painting to melt. meeko
